Support for Communities

“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.”

Hebrews 6:10

In supporting a community, you build relationships and become part of a community. Live2Serve has been committed to serving the communities surrounding San Pedro, which are primarily Haitian migrants. Through food distribution, construction projects, education support, and the distribution of essential goods such as clothing, we have been able to connect with communities while sharing the gospel.

As of 2020, the Dominican Republic is a country with more than 10 million people, and currently 40.4 percent of the people live in poverty and 10.4 percent are in extreme poverty. An estimated 800,000 Haitian migrants are also living in these communities within extreme poverty. Many Haitian migrants work in low-paid and unskilled jobs such as plantations, household cleaning, and manual labor, due to an inability to obtain working papers.

Our Live2Serve mission teams are not only providing resources, but also creating long lasting relationships with those we serve. As we move forward God continues to provide additional opportunities for us to grow and serve communities in extreme poverty.

“The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.”
